| Role Description The Industry Consultant (IC) leverages knowledge and contacts within a specific industry to promote sales of business and technology solutions from Teradata. The IC has broad knowledge of the industry and specific, in depth expertise in a particular segment or functional area of that industry. The IC articulates industry vision and trends, and provides industry knowledge to marketing and sales support activities. The IC establishes or enhances executive level relationships, provides subject matter expertise on engagements, and identifies new target opportunities emerging within the industry. The IC will be expected to deliver high-level, client billable consulting to our targeted accounts and oversee the development of the client engagement model for additional services. In addition, the IC plays an active role in pre and post sale activity, ensuring a long term partnership with Teradata clients. The Industry Consultant may be the Lead Consultant on a project. Key Areas of Responsibility ? Provides subject matter expertise on client engagements. ? Scopes, develops, and proposes business opportunity plans for evolving enterprise data warehouses with Teradata prospects and clients. ? Assists the regional sales teams to drive sales and delivery of Teradata enterprise data warehouse solutions. ? Mentors other Teradata consultants on engagements to infuse industry knowledge into their specific technical/business consulting expertise. ? Becomes spokesperson and subject matter expert in articulating Teradata value to external audiences. Skills ? In depth knowledge of the industry or domain. ? Consulting soft skills in communicating, establishing of strategic direction, influencing others, negotiating skills, operational decision making, problem solving, facilitating and managing meetings, and questioning and probing. ? Selling Skills in organizational politics, value proposition development, solution selling, focusing on the customer, sales ability / persuasiveness, and business needs analysis.
